WP1 - ELECTRA Kick-off Summit

The ELECTRA Kick-off Summit marks the official launch of the project, bringing together project partners, local authorities, civil society organisations, and key stakeholders to establish a common vision, coordinate activities, and initiate transnational cooperation for the successful implementation of the project.

The Town Hall Democracy Forum brings together citizens, local authorities, civil society organisations, and experts to discuss democratic participation, electoral literacy, and civic engagement. Through interactive dialogue and collaborative workshops, participants exchange ideas and develop recommendations for strengthening democracy at the local and European levels.

This work package provides participants with hands-on experience of democratic processes through interactive election simulations and participatory activities. It aims to improve understanding of electoral systems, encourage informed voting, and strengthen confidence in democratic institutions.

Focused on combating disinformation and promoting critical thinking, this work package equips participants with practical skills to identify misinformation, navigate digital environments responsibly, and build resilience against manipulation in the online information space.

The Digital Election Sim Lab provides participants with an immersive election simulation, allowing them to experience democratic processes while navigating realistic information environments. Through interactive scenarios, participants strengthen their electoral literacy, develop critical thinking skills, and learn to identify misinformation before making informed voting decisions.

The Media Literacy Hackathon brings together citizens, young people, educators, and digital experts to collaboratively develop innovative ideas and practical solutions for identifying and combating misinformation. Participants work in teams to create awareness campaigns, educational tools, and creative approaches that promote media literacy and responsible digital citizenship.

This online forum examines the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence and deepfake technologies in shaping political communication and electoral processes. Participants discuss emerging challenges, ethical considerations, and practical strategies for safeguarding democratic integrity in the digital age.

This dialogue workshop focuses on the intersection of gender, democratic participation, and digital disinformation. It promotes inclusive civic engagement by exploring the barriers faced by women and underrepresented groups while encouraging equal participation and resilience against online manipulation and misinformation.

The Civic Futures Lab brings together citizens, local authorities, and civil society organisations to co-design innovative solutions for strengthening local democracy. Through participatory workshops and collaborative learning, participants develop practical recommendations and action plans that support transparent, inclusive, and sustainable democratic governance.

The final summit celebrates the achievements of the ELECTRA project and provides a platform for reflecting on its outcomes, sharing best practices, and discussing the future of democratic participation in Europe. Bringing together partners, citizens, policymakers, and stakeholders, the event reinforces the project’s legacy and promotes continued cooperation in building resilient, informed, and inclusive democracies.
